A branding identity as well as a beer label and packaging design for ‘Broken Heads Brewery’; a hypothetical coastal shed startup located in Broken Heads, New South Whales, Australia. Established by local surfers looking to compete with Byron Bay’s ‘Stone&Wood’ craft beers, the design aimed to site Australian applause and appeal to the coastal surf target market.
The design represented as an octopus downing eight ‘bevs’ insinuated the ‘keen’ drinking culture as well as imagery from the sea. The mustard part of the saying then translated into the flavour of the beer, ‘Keen as Mustard’; spiced ale.
